New Bridge School Blog Post - 06.11.2026

Welcome back, everyone. We are at the start of Autumn 2!

It was really lovely to see everyone back safe and sound after the half-term break, and we have loved hearing all the stories about trick-or-treating and the fun activities everyone enjoyed over the holiday.

Speaking of which, the half-term holiday club was amazing, especially the silent disco and all the fantastic activities that took place throughout the week.

This week, I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing lessons. In IB2, Mrs Lenge and I observed a wonderful lesson using rhythm sticks, where students were fully engaged in learning, interacting with staff and tapping their light-up sticks to different patterns. Thank you to Mrs Hagan and the team for welcoming us into such an amazing learning experience.

In Miss Healey's class, students were creating fireworks patterns using paint, making lots of choices and using their hands to create different shapes, resulting in some lovely finished artwork inspired by Bonfire Night.

Speaking of Bonfire Night, I'm sure many families and carers will be attending bonfires and firework displays this week. Whilst these events are always great fun, we want all our students to return to us safe and sound.

Next week, we will be remembering those who lost their lives in war. The school will be taking part in a minute's silence on Wednesday at 11am, and we will be wearing our poppies with pride.

That's it from me.

One busy, busy, busy week!

Have a great weekend, stay safe, and we'll see you next week.

Mrs T
