Harry Potter Day Casts a Spell Across New Bridge College

A day filled with creativity, learning and Hogwarts magic

On Thursday this week. students and staff stepped into the magical world of Hogwarts as the College celebrated a fantastic Harry Potter Day, filled with creativity, imagination and fun learning experiences.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of Harry Potter-inspired activities, bringing a little Hogwarts magic into their learning.

In English lessons, students unleashed their creativity by inventing their very own magical spells and writing imaginative descriptions of their first day at Hogwarts. Maths lessons also had a magical twist, with Harry Potter-themed activities making learning even more engaging and fun.

The excitement continued at lunchtime when students were invited to take part in a special Hogwarts experience! There were plenty of opportunities to pose for photographs alongside life-sized cardboard cut-outs of their favourite Harry Potter characters. Students even had the chance to see themselves transformed into witches and wizards using AI technology!

The magical activities didn't stop there! Students enjoyed making their own wands, creating mysterious potions and, of course, discovering which Hogwarts house they belonged to with the help of the Sorting Hat!

It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, using their imaginations, trying something new and enjoying the magic of the day.

Harry Potter Day at the College was a magical success and a fantastic opportunity for students to enjoy learning in a creative and memorable way. A huge thank you goes to all staff, students and families who helped make the day such a spellbinding experience.

Digit4ll Business Update

Since the start of term, our Digi sessions have once again been focused on getting our student business up and running. The early stages are always the most challenging, as students work through the process of generating ideas and exploring different possibilities.

As always, our second-year students have played a key role in supporting newer students, encouraging them to think creatively and helping them develop potential business concepts. While this stage can be challenging for everyone involved, it is always rewarding when we begin to narrow down the options and identify a possible winning idea.

Once that initial spark of an idea is found, the exciting work can really begin. Students can start thinking about company names, designing logos, creating slogans, and, most importantly, putting themselves forward for different roles within the company.

Six weeks into the term, we're not quite ready for launch yet, but the foundations are firmly in place. There is still plenty to do, but we are making great progress.

Watch this space... exciting things are on the horizon!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone.
