Mrs T's Blog (9.1.26)

Welcome back everyone and Happy 2026.

It’s been quite a different start to the new term and new year as we have encountered some snow conditions and a storm. The snow always causes some disruption – mainly to transport but we are also aware that – whilst it looks beautiful, it can really disrupt routine for our young people.

Monday was a slightly later start for most of the school (me included), apart from the weather it was absolutely amazing to see our young people bounce back into the building and talk about their Christmas break.

This week, I've been down to our Autism Base and it was good to see how the students have settled after this change in routine and structure, plus a very snowy playground.

We are also able to say hello to some members of staff who have joined us.

A massive ‘welcome' goes to Mr Chadwick, Ms Wareing and Mr Walker – who have joined us in Key Stage 3 and 4. We hope this week has gone well and welcome to the New Bridge family.

That’s it for me this week.

It’s going to be a really busy term and I am sure, over the next few weeks, that our blog will be filled with pictures of students learning and having fun.

Please can families and carers be aware – any updates around the opening and closing of school will be through our usual communication channels and our social media sites.

Stay safe.
