Mrs T's Blog (5.6.26)
The first week of Summer 2 is already over and it’s been a fun packed week here at Roman Road. We hope everyone had a really good break over the half term and bank holiday weekend. It was brilliant to see all the pictures of the holiday club and the students having fun the sun.
Whilst the weather has been cooler this week, the school has heated up with lots of learning and students getting back to routine.
On Wednesday we welcomed the year 6 children, families and carers to come and meet the team and ask any questions they may have about us and the school. It was an amazing evening and a ‘shout out’ needs to go to the staff who attended the event, our key partners from health and to the pastoral team and Miss Cotton, who did an amazing job directing families and answering all their questions and ensuring that students felt reassured by the move to 'big' school . We understand that this time is always filled with nerves and anxiety - but for anyone reading this - who is about to join our New Bridge family - please feel assured that we are able to help and support in any way and be on the other end of a phone or email.
Next week is a particularly busy week for us as our students are off to Euro Disney in Paris. As I’m writing this blog, the corridors and hallways are filled with all the resources we need for 4 fabulous days away. This is the trip that all students remember. I've even had ex students who are now fully grown adults stop me in the street and remind of their trip to Disney. Our blog will be full of pictures of smiley faces - of both staff and students as we make memories.
Next week - some key staff will be out of the building including myself), so if families need to make contact with staff and are unsure on who to contact - please ring the office for information .
So its a ‘bon voyage’ from me .
Hope everyone has a great week!
Stay safe
Mrs T
