EBLTL
Over the last half term, EBLTL have accessed some really exciting projects that the students have thoroughly enjoyed.
We have talked about all the things that we are grateful for, which prompted thought and discussions within the group. James said that he was grateful for animals and pets, Lukas said that he was grateful for his family, Musfiq was grateful for ambulances and Wayne said that he was grateful that he could come to college. After the discussion, we made our own Grateful Tree which is displayed in the classroom, where students can freely hang their thoughts when they become grateful for new things.

We have celebrated Chinese New Year and discovered that 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse. The students did some research using their iPads and we explored why Chinese New Year is celebrated. We found out that Chinese New Year's Eve is the day before the Chinese New Year. This is a holiday and it falls between January 21 and February 20 on the Gregorian calendar. This has evolved over a long period of time, and it is considered a reunion day for every Chinese family. The origin of Chinese New Year's Eve can be traced back to 3,500 years ago. To mark the occasion, the students participated in making their very own Dragon puppets.

On Thursday, it was World Book Day! The theme within the Learning Center was "Crime and punishment". Part of the classroom became a crime scene. The students became detectives and studied the room to find clues in order to solve the mystery. Some of the clues included the footprint of the criminal, their favourite food and a clue that points to their favourite animal. After the evidence was collected, the class deliberated on who the criminal was! And guess what? It was Kobe!
