Learning Centre Blog (24.4.26)
We’ve had a busy start to the summer term at the Learning Centre. I’m always delighted to read the blogs from our dedicated staff team and the blogs since the start of term have not disappointed!
Last week Mrs McDonald showed how super busy her class have been. A fabulous new classroom shop is helping students develop their practical maths and English skills. Mrs McDonald stated: All the students have made excellent progress, and it has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm, creativity, and engagement across all activities.
The class used social stories within English and became pirates, whilst also developing their creative and independent skills within ICT.
The creativity theme continued in creative arts with students creating some amazing Brazilian carnival mask. I have to say their African giraffe masks for this term's Africa theme are fabulous! Well, done Mrs McDonald class – very proud of you all!

Mrs Thomas’ Community Living class have taken over the responsibility of running the Learning Centre tuck shop, and they did brilliantly. Students used their art skills to creative their own posters which can be seen throughout the building. In addition, students also visited every class, and as Mrs Thomas reported "they did a brilliant job speaking clearly and engaging with others".

The class have also been busy creating their own clocks to help their learning around time. Amazing work guys, well done!

Miss Williams IB class produced a lovely video for their blog.
The summer term has started in such an exciting and positive way in IB4, with lots of brilliant learning already taking place.
Students have been going on a bear hunt within maths and communication, created a colourful ribbon to mark ‘Autism awareness month, and took part in belated Eid celebrations.
Student have also been developing their independence and living skills within cooking. Well done everyone, you all looked truly fabulous in your Eid outfits, I’m definitely joining in next time.
