EBase 1

Our class has been busy with lots of exciting activities and celebrations over the past few weeks!
What an amazing half term it’s been in Ebase 1. We had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year in class. Everyone worked together to create a fantastic Chinese dragon, showing great teamwork and creativity.
We also experimented with paint, food colouring, and water to decorate a large sheet, which turned into a colourful and exciting art activity.
Once it dried, we added our own Chinese New Year crafts and decorations to the display. The finished piece has really brightened up our classroom and showcases all the student's hard work and imagination.

We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day in our class.

The students arrived in some truly brilliant costumes, bringing their favourite stories to life. Among them were the Cat in the Hat, the Highway Rat, and the Witch from Room on the Broom, each one adding to the excitement and magic of the day.

To build on the fun, we took part in a range of activities inspired by these stories. The scavenger hunt had everyone searching high and low for hidden clues, while our potion‑making station encouraged lots of imaginative thinking and creative concoctions.

We also enjoyed a fishing and matching game linked to the stories, which proved to be a big hit with the whole class.

Our classroom was buzzing with energy, and it was lovely to see everyone sharing their love of books in such a joyful way.

Another exciting moment was when we had eggs brought into the Learning centre and we watched them hatch into chicks!

Once the chicks had settled in and fluffed up, we brought them into the classroom for a closer look.

The students were brilliant calm, gentle, and genuinely interested as they handled the chicks.

We’ve launched our very own class café, and it has quickly become a highlight of the week. Students take turns choosing items such as toast, cereal, biscuits, and juice, turning our classroom into a lively little café full of chatter and fun.

Alongside the enjoyment, the café has become a brilliant way for students to build important life skills. They’ve been learning how to recognise coins, work out the correct amount of money they need, and hand it over confidently to make a purchase.

It’s been wonderful to see their independence grow as they practise real‑life skills. The café has helped students understand the value of money, develop communication skills, and build confidence in everyday tasks.

To celebrate Red Nose Day, our class visited the Red Nose Day café in the dining hall, where the atmosphere was full of energy and laughter. Everyone enjoyed joining in with the fundraising spirit and being part of something that brings the whole school together.
As a class, we created our very own Red Nose Day character a fantastic Sheriff Red Nose! The students had great fun designing the character together, adding creative details and plenty of personality.

It has been a fantastic few weeks full of creativity, learning, and fun experiences. From hands on activities to imaginative projects. The classroom has been buzzing with energy as they explored new ideas, developed important skills, and enjoyed working together.

We’re incredibly proud of all they’ve achieved, and we’re looking forward to even more exciting learning ahead.
