We Did It! 🎉
As we now have reached the end of another successful academic year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on all that we have achieved together as a College community.
This year has been filled with hard work, determination and many memorable moments. From outstanding academic achievements and work experience placements to enrichment activities, trips, and celebrations. Undoubtedly, our students have continued to demonstrate resilience, ambition and a commitment to excellence.
I would like to thank our dedicated staff for their unwavering support and commitment, our parents and carers for their partnership throughout the year, and most importantly, our students for their enthusiasm, hard work, and positive contributions to College life.
To those who are moving on to the next stage of their journey, we wish you every success and happiness in the future. To those returning in September, we look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting year.
Have a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved Summer break.

A Term to Be Proud Of…
As we reach the end of the Summer Term, we would like to recognise the hard work and determination shown by all our English students.
This term, learners have been working towards their Pearson Edexcel English assessments at Entry Level and Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2. Preparing for an English exam is not always easy, but pupils have continued to attend lessons, practise their skills and keep trying—even when they have found the work challenging.
We have celebrated many successes and exam passes this term. These results have been earned through the effort, resilience and positive attitude of our learners. We are extremely proud of what they have achieved.
Some pupils were only a few marks away from passing. Although this may feel disappointing, it also shows how close they are. They will have another opportunity to complete the assessment, and we will continue to support them. The important message is, do not give up. Every lesson, every piece of work and every attempt helps to build the skills needed for next time.
It has been a pleasure to teach our learners this year. We have enjoyed seeing their confidence grow and watching them become more independent in their reading, writing and communication.
At the end of this term, we will also be saying goodbye for now to Shannon, one of our English teachers. Shannon is leaving to spend a year travelling and having new adventures. We wish her a safe and exciting journey and look forward to welcoming her back in September 2027.
We hope all our pupils and their families have a happy, peaceful and restful summer break. You have worked hard and deserve time to rest and recharge.
We look forward to seeing everyone again in September.

As we reach the end of another fantastic school year, it's hard to believe just how much we've achieved. This has truly been an action-packed year, filled with creativity, performance, and exciting new opportunities.
One of the highlights has been our first year working in Oldham Theatre Workshop's new building. Having access to this inspiring space has allowed our students to develop their skills, take part in engaging workshops, and build confidence both on and off the stage.
We were also proud to be part of the first ever Oldham Performing Arts Network Festival, performing alongside 10 other schools. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the talent, creativity, and collaboration that exists across Oldham's performing arts community.
Throughout the year, students have worked incredibly hard towards their BTEC qualifications, showcasing their progress through termly showbacks and memorable performances. We were particularly proud of our Monologue Show, where students demonstrated their growing confidence and ability as performers.
Dance has also played a big part in our year, with students taking part in the Salford Dance Explosion with enthusiasm and dedication.
We brought the year to a close with a fantastic series of performances at Oldham Theatre Workshop, featuring both our College Band and Lumenus KS4 performers. It was a fitting celebration of all the hard work, commitment, and talent shown throughout the year.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, including staff, families, partners, and friends. Your encouragement and belief in our young people helps make these opportunities possible.
We can't wait to see what next year brings.
Have a wonderful summer, and we'll see you in September for even more exciting opportunities and performances!

Photography Students Shine at the Manchester Open Exhibition
There was a real sense of pride and excitement as students from Digital Groups 1 and 2 travelled to Manchester to visit HOME and see their own photography displayed as part of the prestigious Manchester Open Exhibition.

Having work selected for such a respected exhibition is a fantastic achievement, and our students represented New Bridge College with professionalism, enthusiasm and pride throughout the visit. Seeing their photographs exhibited alongside work from talented artists and photographers from across the region was an inspiring experience and a testament to the creativity, dedication and technical skills they have developed.
The exhibition gave students the opportunity to experience a professional gallery environment, view a wide range of contemporary artwork, and appreciate how photography can be used to tell stories, evoke emotion and communicate ideas. Most importantly, it allowed them to celebrate the incredible achievement of having their own work recognised and displayed in a public exhibition.

An update from Tish, Job Coach based within David Lloyd clubs,
Well, what can I say? It has certainly been an interesting year for the Pre-Internship students here at New Bridge College. Throughout the year, our students have faced new challenges, embraced exciting opportunities, and shown remarkable resilience and determination. We have celebrated successes, learned valuable lessons, and watched each student grow in confidence, independence, and self-belief.
It has been fantastic to watch our students develop new skills, overcome challenges, and achieve goals that once seemed out of reach.
Reece has continued to thrive in his role as a Clubroom Assistant at David Lloyd Clubs. He has shown great commitment and enthusiasm in the workplace, developing his skills, confidence, and independence throughout the year. It has been wonderful to see him grow and succeed in his employment.
A comment from Reece:
"I really enjoy working at David Lloyd Clubs, and I feel like part of the team. I work once or twice a week, during the evenings and at weekends. I have been working there for five months now and have met so many new people. I love working with the staff and being able to use the facilities. Most of all, I enjoy going for a swim when I have finished my shift. It's also great to be earning my own money, feeling responsible, and becoming more independent."
Amman with his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn, Amaan is well placed to continue growing in confidence and independence over the coming year.
A comment from Amaan:
"I have done well this year by completing work experience placements in different settings, where I have learned how to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and develop my workplace skills. I am particularly proud of passing my Maths qualification, which has helped to build my confidence. I am looking forward to progressing into my second year as a Pre-Internship student and hope to continue increasing my independence, developing new skills, and preparing for future employment."
Zakariya has worked hard during his first year as a Pre-Internship student. He has developed an excellent work ethic and has demonstrated the ability to work independently, particularly during his placement with the Housekeeping Team at David Lloyd Clubs. I have also been offered two job opportunities through different companies at David Lloyd Clubs. In addition, I passed my driving theory test, which I am very pleased about. I am now taking the next step towards gaining my full driving licence and hope to pass my practical test soon.
A message from Sophie, Pre-Internship Job based at The Atrium Café.
As we look back over the past year, we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible progress our Pre-Interns students have made working in the Atrium Café at First Choice Homes.
From the first nervous moments to confidently serving customers with a smile, each student has shown resilience, and a genuine willingness to learn.
At the beginning of the year, many students were stepping into a working environment for the very first time, learning how to take orders, prepare meals, restocking items however with practice, encouragement, and plenty of perseverance, they embraced every opportunity to develop their skills.
Throughout the year the students have shown massive improvements in their confidence, communication skills, and independence.
As the year has come to an end, we would like to congratulate every student for everything they have achieved this year.
A huge well done to all of our Pre-Internship students for your hard work, determination, and achievements this year. You have shown resilience in overcoming challenges, embraced new opportunities, and developed valuable skills for the future. Whether through work experience placements, academic success, increased independence, or personal growth, each of you has much to be proud of.
As we celebrate your successes, take time to reflect on how far you have come and the progress you have made. This year has brought its challenges, but your commitment, perseverance, and positive attitudes have helped you achieve so much.
Have an amazing, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. We hope you enjoy spending time with family and friends, making happy memories, and recharging for the year ahead. We look forward to seeing you continue to grow, develop, and achieve even more when you return.
Congratulations on a fantastic year, and have a wonderful summer! ☀️🎉🌟
