Behaviour

(Learning Centre)

New Bridge Learning Centre does not tolerate any form of bullying, it is totally unacceptable. We want all all our young people to feel safe and happy.

In the event of a breakdown in discipline or personal relationships, several sanctions can be used which range from having College privileges withdrawn to your child being given time out to reflect, receiving detention or, as a final sanction, an exclusion.

Behaviour of our parents/carers

New Bridge Learning Centre aims to make sure that it is a safe place for our children, staff and members   of the community. If you have any queries regarding your child please speak to your child’s Form Tutor in the first instance, after that the process to follow is to speak to the Pathway Lead and then a member of the Pastoral team. Senior Leaders will only become involved after this process has been followed. If you have any queries about who to contact, please contact the office.

We do not tolerate abusive language and behaviour towards our staff, any parents using persistent abusive behaviour will be asked to leave the premises and the incident will be reported to the police.

Team Teach

A team of staff at New Bridge Learning Centre are trained in Team Teach. This positive behaviour training programme provides staff with the confidence and strategies they need to de-escalate challenging situations and reduce the need for physical intervention. Team Teach training equips staff with the knowledge and the skills to manage distressed behaviours and conflicts safely and respectfully.

Restrictive Physical Intervention (RPI) is always used a last resort when all other appropriate strategies and interventions have been used.
