Home-School Transport
If you think your child is entitled to the Home-College transport service, you should contact your Local Authority. They will inform you of the steps you need to take, and they also make the final decision on whether transport will be provided or not. New Bridge Learning Centre does not manage home-College transport, although we do liaise with local authorities to resolve any issues that may arise. If you have any issues around obtaining home to College transport, POINT Oldham or SENDIAS at Oldham SENDIASS – POINT (www.point-send.co.uk/oldhamsendiass/) who will be able to provide advice and support. If you are aware of any changes, please inform College and transport. Further information can be found by visiting the website
https://www.oldham.gov.uk/downloads/download/347/home_to_College_transport_policy.
On arrival, all pupils are greeted by a member of staff who will escort them to their form room. Pupils are supported at the end of the College day.

Independent Travellers
Please inform college if your child is an independent traveller. They will not be allowed to leave the premises if we have not been informed that they are able to travel on their own unsupervised. If you would like your child to become an independent traveller, a referral can be made to Pure Innovations for travel training. Please contact your Form Tutor or Pastoral Lead for further information.
Pupils dropped off by parents/carers
College starts at 9am. At the start of the college day, please bring your child to the entrance at the main door of the building, doors open at 8.45am and you can wait with your child in the courtyard until staff arrive at the door to meet you. We close the College gate around 9.15am. If you arrive after this time, please press the buzzer and reception will let you in.
College ends at 3.10pm. At the end of the day, you should collect your child from the same courtyard at the front of the building. When collecting your child we ask that you wait outside in the courtyard until the College doors open, when a member of staff will hand your child over to your care.
If you need to pick up your child before 3pm, please let reception know if this is going to be a regular occurrence so we can monitor who leaving the site. If you do collect your child early, but arrive after 2.55pm, we ask that you wait outside. We will be unable to let you into reception as students will be making their way out at the end of the day and the area will become too crowded.
As a safeguarding measure, New Bridge Learning Centre operates a ‘password’ system. All families are asked to set a ‘password’ which is recorded on the College database. This password must then be given to staff by whomever you have authorised to pick up your child before we will permit them to leave the premises. This is an important measure to protect our vulnerable young people and gives both you and College the confidence to know that only people authorised to do so will be able to take responsibility for a child.
