Curriculum Vision
The Entitlement provision at the Learning Centre is a discreet provision which provides a consistent and structured environment and approach for students who may find it difficult to adapt to change.
The curriculum enables our young people to fulfil their academic potential and access activities which are meaningful, fun and differentiated to meet each individuals’ educational needs and support them in working towards their EHCP Outcomes and future destination.
Entitlement provision is an environment which promotes students’ communication skills using a total communication approach using Signalong, symbols, pictures, concrete objects, Intensive Interaction and Sensory Processing techniques to help our young people to manage everyday activities and successfully interact in the world and support and develop students learning socially, emotionally, and academically on a daily basis.
Entitlement Base at New Bridge Learning Centre
Students within the Entitlement provision access a range of activities including Maths, English, RSHE, ICT and Outdoor Education. Life skill lessons are delivered which include Cooking and Looking after the Home. Assessment is carried out electronically and students are encouraged to engage with this process as much as they are able; it takes place within lessons which allows students to be part of their learning journey and record their achievements giving them a sense of pride and boost self-esteem.
The Entitlement provision is a motivating and fun place to be where our young people are encouraged to be as independent as possible where they thrive and make good progress in all areas of their learning and development.
