Extended Schools
(Holiday Club &
After School Club)
New Bridge School
After School Club
Our After School Club operates from Monday to Thursday, starting at 3.10pm and finishing promptly at 4.45pm. There is a minimal charge of £5.00 per day. After School Club is currently only available at New Bridge School and New Bridge Pathways sites. After School Club starts from the third week in September, this allows us time to get to know any new students.
Students in the IB an AB classes will remain in their class base and have the freedom to choose their preferred activities. While we strive to accommodate all family requests, availability is dependent on staff volunteering to work. We match staff to students to ensure that each student’s needs are met by familiar staff members. Therefore, if the requested staff are unavailable, we may not be able to offer your child a place.
Holiday Club
Our Holiday Clubs run during October, February, Easter and May half terms and for the first four weeks of the Summer holidays. Holiday Clubs are available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and parents can request up to three days per week, with a cost of £15 per day. Holiday Clubs are based at New Bridge School, Roman Road site, and students from all four New Bridge sites attend the clubs at Roman Road. All students have equal opportunities to access these holiday schemes, which are managed by highly experienced staff to ensure the welfare and safety of all participants. We endeavour to fulfil every request, but this is subject to various factors and may not always be guaranteed.
A wide range of activities, tailored to the needs of the young people are offered including arts and crafts, cooking, swimming and sports for the Mainbody of students. The Autism Base, Interactive Bases and Pathway classes have custom timetables suited to their individual needs, including swimming, arts and crafts and cooking. We also organise trips to local parks and attractions and bring in external agencies, such as Little Barn Animal Farm, Dinotopia and Ranger Rob’s Animal Experience, to provide a varied and exciting experience for your child.
Letters are sent home approximately six weeks before a holiday period, typically the week we return from a holiday. Information is sent via your Arbor account asking families to select the days they wish their child to attend the next Holiday Club. Due to the extensive planning involved, the deadline for returns is tight. We match staff to student needs and rely on staff volunteering to work.
To maintain continuity of care and ensure your child has the most enjoyable time, we may not receive every day you request if staffing is insufficient. Your child’s timetable will be sent home as confirmation of their place approximately one to two weeks prior to the club.
