Pathways Blog - 5.9.25
Thursday saw New Bridge Pathways re-open its doors to welcome Year 10 and Year 11 pupils for the Academic year 2025-2026.
I am always excited to see the new faces of our Year 10s that come through the door, but also glad to see familiar smiles of our returning Year 11s. I also have to take a second look at some pupils, as they seem to have grown an extra foot over the summer break!
The past two days has been a settling in period for pupils, as they get to know their environment, the expectations of the school and re-connect with peers and staff. There has been a positive buzz around the site as we prepare for the commencement of timetabled sessions on Monday.
Whilst at New Bridge Pathways, with the support of our dedicated staff team working alongside families and external agencies, I look forward to seeing our pupils progress, develop and aspire towards their future destinations.
Let us together make this new academic year a special one for our young learners!

Activ8
Activ8 have settled well into their first few days here at the Pathways site. They have completed teambuilding activities and these have supported each other over the first 2 days of the new term. All students had a positive visit to Mahdlo on Friday and enjoyed playing basketball and cricket whilst linking up with the Activ8 groups from New Bridge College. Well done.

A Wonderful Start in CL3!
What a lovely couple of days we've had in CL3 to kick off the new school year!
Even though we've only just started and haven’t dived into lessons yet, the children have already made such a fantastic impression. We’ve spent the past two days getting to know each other, settling into the classroom, and building those all-important routines – and I couldn’t be more proud of how they’ve started.
They’ve shown themselves to be a kind, polite, and well-mannered bunch who are already showing signs of being a really hardworking and thoughtful class. Everyone has joined in with our activities with great enthusiasm, and there’s been a real sense of teamwork and positivity in the room.
It’s been such a pleasure to start getting to know each of them, and I can already tell we’re going to have a fantastic year.
Well done everyone 😊

CL4
CL4have had a fabulous first couple of days, they have enjoyed getting to know each other and sharing some fun activities. The year 11s have been great at guiding our new starters, showing them around and answering all of their questions. We can’t wait to start our timetabled lessons next week.

Digi 1
Over the last 2 days, Digi 1 have made themselves at home here at Pathways. They have created their own journals to store important information, looked at their timetable and have even sent emails to the class team all about themselves.

Digi 2
Digi 2 getting settled in, they are all looking forward to the academic year 2025-26. We had great fun getting to know each others favourite movies and TV series and it was great to know many of us have watched and have interest in similar movies and programmes although food and holiday destinations were a bit more unique to ourselves. The year 11s buddied with the year 10s and gave the year 10s a tour of the building. We (year 10s) settled a lot of our nerves on the first day after a lot of worry over the summer holidays.
Lumenus
Lumenus KS4 are so excited to welcome our new members. We are really looking forward to learning new skills with our new members, growing together as a community where we will support one another, and celebrate each others' successes.
This year is going to be full of new adventures, creative projects and plenty of laughter. Once again, get ready for some outstanding performances.
