New Bridge Learning Centre Blog - 17.5.24

I’d like to start by saying well done to Mrs McDonald and her class for all the great work that’s going on (see E-Base Update below!)

It's clearly been a busy week.

This week I’d like to shine a spotlight on some of our Teaching Assistants who have spent the last 8 weeks undertaking a specially designed ‘Teaching assistant development program'.

I had the real pleasure of joining them for their final session where they shared their journey and what they have learned over the last few weeks. I was delighted to see how much they have learnt and grown in confidence. I also loved that they realised how central they are to the staff team and to enabling our students to feel safe, secure and in place where they can learn and ultimately thrive! So very proud of you all, well done, Asma, Kaleigh, Matthew, Olivia, Amelia, Nihar, Ellie, Katie, Kim and Megan!

I’d also like to thanks all those parents and carers who were able to come to last nights LC parents evening. It's always fantastic to be able to celebrate with families our students’ achievements and hopefully work in partnership with families to offer support where required. Thanks again to Shannon our LC student advocate for supporting all evening and showing families around.

Have a lovely weekend

E-Base Update

A fun filled week in Ebase 2, where we have all worked hard in our lessons.

We have continued to practice our fine motor skills, handwriting skills and reading skills.

During Art we have been exploring techniques used by Piet Mondrian.

During Life skills we have been working on looking after our nails and preparing the laundry in preparation of being washed.

In cooking we have been planning for special events, one week we will complete worksheets where we have selected the ingredients we want to use and the following week we have completed the practical activity.

We enjoyed going for a lovely walk round daisy nook on Monday.

Well done, everyone.
