Mrs T's Blog (7.11.25)

Welcome back, everyone, to Autumn 2.

It was amazing to see everyone return back to school on Monday. We are always slightly conscious that this half term hosts lots of events – Halloween and Bonfire night – which always comes with lots of worries around students’ safety.

We needn't have worried though and I've seen some brilliant work this week around 'Keep safe at Bonfire night'.

In 8JSW, the class were talking about all the different themes – from the history element – thank you Harrison for talking about the Guy Fawkes plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament, through to the fun events at Bonfires (thanks, Maddie).

The pictures of Holiday Club looked amazing and the students really had a brilliant time.

Thank you to all the staff who made sure the fun happened.

On a sad note, over the half term break one of our students, Kasmala, passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, and we feel blessed to have been part of her life.

Fly high, beautiful girl.

This week, we think about the people who have lost their lives or dedicated their lives to the war. November is a time of refection and remembrance and this week classes have been looking at the poppy and its significance. We will be taking part in a minute’s silence on Tuesday, to show our respect.

This term is very very busy. We have an up-and-coming parents evening plus events such as Children in Need and, dare I say it this early...Christmas.

Please keep an eye on all our social media, blogs and posts to be aware of events and please check Arbor or the communication platform that we use to send information from home to school.

That’s it for me this week.

On Sunday, I will be climbing up Pots and Pans in Uppermill to show my respect.

Have a great weekend and stay safe
