Learning Centre Blog (6.12.24)
This term we got creative by creating our business.
We conducted market research to work out which products would appeal to the students and staff of the Learning Centre.
We decided that our business should be brownies!
We then had a friendly competition to design a name and logo for our business and this is the winning design by Rhys as voted for by his peers.
Following this was a rigorous taste testing session where we had to find the three best toppings for brownies based on our tastes and preferences. This was possibly the most fun session.
We began to plan for the Christmas Market at the Learning Centre. We created posters to advertise our brownies and worked out how we would be able to buy what we needed and still make a profit.
We decided to sell two types of brownie – a ready made one and a brownie mix in a jar. Some of us wanted to try making some wax melted baubles that we had seen on the internet.
It took all week to be ready for our stall and we all had our jobs to do to contribute to the process including measuring ingredients and making signs.
On the day we took turns talking to customers, taking money and giving change and generally enjoying the atmosphere of the market.
We are now thinking about our next business venture – watch this space!
