Learning Centre Blog - 13.12.24

This week, the students from EBase were invited by the Salvation Army and Spark Oldham to The Brew Café for some Christmas activities.

What a fantastic time we had. There were lots of activities for us to participate in, including making reindeer food, sensory play, colouring, singing and dancing.

The students could not believe their eyes when Father Christmas strolled in ringing his bell with a sack full of presents for all the students, closely followed by Bluey and Bingo.

Thankyou so much to the teams from The Salvation Army and Spark for making our afternoon so special, magical, fun and enjoyable.

You are all amazing!

EBase 1

This week in Ebase 1, we have been getting into the holiday spirit by making cards, creating our own personalised baubles and painting snowflakes. It has been lovely to see our students showing their artistic sides and creating some masterpieces!

In cooking we had lots of fun going through our list of ingredients and working together as a team to make the most delicious apple turnovers we've ever seen (Mary Berry eat your heart out!) I'm sure our students will agree, being able to taste them was even better than making them and definitely better than the washing up afterwards.

In English some of our students have been enjoying our sensory story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. Using sensory props to create a more imaginative story for the students and bringing the book to life! This was a big hit all round.

All in all it has been a wonderful week full of learning, team work and festivities.
