Hydro Blog

This week’s blog is celebrating the work of our hydro and rebound teams.

Our team – Kathryn, Maria, Jackie and Abbie work with our wonderful students, ensuring they get some time to stretch, move and in some cases relax.

For some students, that may be out of their chair, or bed or simply just moving in a way to move their muscles and body.

Whilst this is so important, it’s also a time when the team get to work closely with students and form some amazing relationships.

Sometimes there is a massive reluctance by our students to take part in movement, but as the pictures in this blog show – by the end of the sessions – students not only feel the benefits but also – judging from the smiles on their faces, really enjoy the activity.

I want to say a massive thank you to the team and also to Donna Ward who works alongside the team to ensure we have the right equipment and training – for all our staff.

Hydro/ Rebound

This week has been extraordinarily busy as this week we welcomed staff from the rest of New Bridge MAT, to come and have a look around our school.

School Council met with the team that came from Samuel Laycock, Hawthorns, Hollinwood  Academy and Springboard Project.

School Council were really vocal around our school, telling colleagues they felt safe and happy. Which is really everything we could ask for.

Christmas has begun here at Roman Road and the tree is sat in reception, beautifully decorated (no flashing lights).

As we move into this season – we also need to think about others.

Some families really struggle at this time. With this in mind we have collected brand new children’s duvets and have created some packs for families and carers.

If families are struggling – can they please reach out to us, before the end of the term. We can be reached on the New Bridge email address or by speaking to the school office.

That’s it for me.

If anyone is out and about this weekend – I’m running the Saddleworth Santa Dash alongside my daughters Abi and Lucy and my friends.

If you see me – please shout out. I’ll be the one dressed in red.

Some of our staff will also be running in this brilliant event – pictures to follow.

Have a brilliant weekend

Stay safe
