Gavin Lyons

By virtue of office I have been a governor at New Bridge School since my appointment as Head of School in January 2018.

I have worked in education for over 13 years, initially training and working as a mainstream secondary Science Teacher for 3 years before moving into special education. During this time, I have worked with pupils aged 3-19 with the full range of educational needs in specialist school settings whilst also supporting the training and development of staff working in mainstream settings to enable them to meet the special educational needs of pupils in their schools.

I am passionate about developing innovative working practices that support effective teaching and learning and in 2013 I completed my Masters in Inclusive Education and SEN. In my current role as Head of School, I oversee teaching and learning and pastoral care for all pupils at New Bridge School.
